This is a blend attributed to the equestrian history of the estate. It is a blend of the 4 most noble cultivars; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for 36months before release.

It started as a single barrel tucked away in the back of the cellar in 1982. Today, our Cape Vintage Port (CVP) is still made the same way. We use 100% Shiraz and matured Brandy, which gives velvety fruit flavours and allows us to release earlier than most due to the silky smooth tannins and rich flavours.

The grapes for our 2002 Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon came from our vineyard located in the heart of Stellenbosch. The vineyard consists of 3 individual blocks situated on westerly and southerly slopes ranging in altitude from 100m to 170m above sea level.Annandale’s vineyards are nurtured by deep, gravely soil with decomposed granite sub-soils featuring the optimal kind of soil structure and soil texture for producing superior quality red wines. The combination of vineyard, low yields and impeccable farming, has produced grapes and thus wine with incredible flavour and concentration. The 2002 Cabernet was barreld for 66 Months in New French Oak and is an absolute delight. Released in December 2007.
